For the past week a flock of peafowl has been running wild in my neighborhood — and they’re LOUD. At times they sound like a pride of kittens* meowing their heads off, at other times they sound like a dozen little kids screaming bloody murder.
Here’s a pic. Sorry for the poor quality of this photo; it was shot quickly on my sister’s iPhone. The birds were on the move! They had strolled through our pasture, and were quickly making their way on a westward path like they didn’t have a care in the world. Must be nice.
There’s never a dull moment out in the country!
*Is there such a thing as a pride of kittens? Just sounded good to say.

Haha, my grandfather’s neighbor used to have peacocks that he let roam. After my grandfather politely asked him to keep them off of his property (they roosted on his restored model-A and crapped all over it one day) and the neighbor very rudely shut the door in his face. Grandpa invited the whole family over for a BBQ….we didn’t know until we got there that we were going to eat peafowl that he had caught and dressed out hahahaha. They actually tasted very good.
