When I returned, the two hens had no eggs under them; they were all under the turkey. I gently returned the guinea eggs to their adopted mothers and put two duck eggs under Turkey Lady to keep her happy with something more appropriate for her size. She was having none of it.
The Cochins and the turkey did this faithfully for the several weeks it took for hatching. Turkey Lady would always step lightly and delicately into the nest, keeping a constant eye on her little eggs as she lowered herself gently over them.
